SCV Invests in Agremo and their Precision Agriculture Platform

Belgrade, December 18, 2018 Agremo, the creator of an intuitive agricultural sensing and imagery analysis platform for drone and remote sensing operators, growers, and agronomists, has closed $600,000 in a investment round led by South Central Ventures and followed by
Startlabs. The funding will enable Agremo to further grow their team and their customer base in different geographies throughout the world.

Agremo is a software platform for agribusinesses, crop growers and anyone interested in crop and land status and health. Agremo performs analytics from aerial imagery, leveraging AI, computer vision and machine learning, to provide so called “brains” for better crop management.Their AI technology extracts accurate data from the images with proven results for over 100 plant and crop types across all growing stages. Their clients can count plants, detect diseases, weed and pest problems, water stress, determine flowering levels, and much more. The platform is compatible with any equipment type, including all commercial drones and sensors (RGB, NIR, multispectral, etc.) as well as the data collected by satellites. Analyses go far beyond simple index-based reports and truly add value to the end users by helping them achieve sustainable production, improved yields and lower production costs.

As Ramón Pagán, Mapping Expert and President of Caribe Drones states, “After introducing mapping and crop analysis reports to farmers, they could see their field from another perspective. Agremo is helping us bring essential information to farmers, which was impossible to get until recently.”

The company was founded in 2015 by Milan Dobrota (CEO), Rastko Čarapić (COO) and Nebojša Pavičić (CTO); an experienced team with extensive knowledge in agriculture, data science, drones and developing technology solutions at scale. Agremo has since become a recognized name in precision agriculture, analyzing over 100,000 hectares of arable land for their users in more than 100 countries around the world, with the vast majority of them coming from the USA. With the increased adoption of drone and remote sensing technologies in agricultural production, the demand for drone and ag-tech professionals is expected to grow significantly and Agremo, with their team of 20 professionals is well positioned to meet that demand.

“We have successfully grown the business to over 100 countries and with the help and experience of South Central Ventures we will be able to achieve our expansion plans and grow Agremo to become the key player in the field” said Milan Dobrota, Co-founder and CEO of Agremo.

“Digital transformation and the use of technology in agriculture is one of the areas we feel very positive about. Agremo’s founders and the whole team have been able to articulate the value they bring to farmers very clearly, which has continually been validated by growth in demand for their solutions and various cooperation models with some of the worlds biggest brands in agriculture. We feel extremely excited to be able to work with Milan and his team on growing the business internationally” said Jan Kobler, Managing Partner of South Central Ventures.
